Judge for Third Coast International Audio Festival

I am so honored to have been able to be a judge for the 2009 Third Coast International Audio Festival. Many thanks to Julie Shapiro & Johanna Zorn for asking me to be a part of an amazing day of aural storytelling. It was really hard to pick two pieces for the next round out of the thirteen we heard but, I stand by them both and look forward to hearing who the winners are in October.

You Weren't There: A History Of Chicago Punk 1977-84

I mastered the vinyl this weekend for my colleague in NYC, Matt Grady and his new venture Factory 25, which is releasing the DVD/LP, You Weren't There: A History Of Chicago Punk 1977-84.

It was full of great sonic challenges since all of the songs came from various studios and had a myriad of aggressive hardcore/punk aesthetics. Coming atcha' on October 27th!

24-Carat Black: Gone The Promises Of Yesterday

This is a new CD/LP of an unreleased Stax LP from 1975 that I co-produced with The Numero Group.

Check out the evolution of this album with my mash-ups of producer Dale Warren's various productions of the same songs by different artists throughout the 60s and 70s juxtaposed against the 24-Carat Black material.
